Authors of the 20th Century
Immediately after the cessation of the Second World War the public commenced to deem that the world’s ground rules are clear and justifiable . Both world politics and social relations were counting on the principles of advancement , positive changes , faith in the logical , understanding , technical innovations , and the potential to substantiate any happening from a logical standpoint . Nevertheless , starting from the second half of the 60’s, the world began to degrade and now , 40 years thereafter , we live in a new type of existence .
We easily note those changes which are brought to us by new technology, but we seldom come to realize the fact that there are specific ideas which the author has put behind those inventions . The nature of the expected change was first found by those people, who as a rule of thumb lived anteceding their time – writers and authors. Among the many authors whose works have served for pleasure , there have been a few who have given people a new picture of the future . They have better than others other people shaped and formulated fresh thoughts and have ultimately done a brand new intellectual and perceptual analysis of the future. They have noted issues in the mundane of our lives and have shed light onto a number of problems, which were existing without being noted . They have aided us to realize the new challenges , and sent us new aspirations .
These were the authors who have formed the mindset of the entire generation, which has live through the times of drastic change; change, which was perceived as chaos at the start of the 21 first century. They have turned our attention to the most burning dilemmas of the last century; those problems , which the people , having gone through the global wars and unprecedented number of deaths, was afraid to face . Lastly they were voicing the main question “What will happen in the future”?
In this work we will mention some of the most prominent writers of the 20th century. They have all greatly influenced literature of their time, have reflected looks and difficulties which were relevant to their countries and the period they were living in, and have made the readers analyze the real philosophy of values, having them realize that it is far away from being genuine. One of the most interesting feature of their writing is that in mostly they have evoked the audience interest in books and written works. from this angle one of the most exciting success stories is that of a famous author Anne Bronte .
The achievement of Joan Rowling can be called unique as she has become the first author in the world to earn $1 billion by publishing fairytales. She is currently spending a considerable part of her profit on charity, fighting poverty and illness. The plot of the book was created while she was on the train from Manchester to London. When the publisher has first agreed to publish her book, she has awarded her 1500 pounds together with a friendly piece of advice — to find a permanent job. He was unaware of the idea that the young writer would be able to make a living off of writing books. Joann has showed the opposite - having created a series of amazing fairytales, she has made the so-called non-reading people get back to reading.
This paper is not able to enumerate and more or less accurately list all writers who have made their gift to the today’s literature. They have been working and putting ideas exactly into the heads of the people, and therefore were shaping the future. Thus, as we can see, these writers were not creating for relaxation only, but they were also playing a considerable role in shaping the culture and the looks of a civilization of the 20th century.
